World Ostomy Day 2015

World Ostomy Day is just around the corner. Many countries and associations are now busy in creating such awareness on a worldwide scale. The theme for this years celebration is "Many Stories, One Voice".

Do you want to know what activities are in store for the celebration of World Ostomy Day this year?

Coloplast brings to us the #MyOstomyStory and Convatec provides us the I CAN celebrate World Ostomy Day byword. Do you want to participate in these activities?

Please click our dedicated World Ostomy Day 2015 webpage at WOD 2015 - IOA on how to further this awareness.

We would like to share the WOD Message for 2015 of Dr. Buch by watching the video below. Please click photo to directly watch in youtube.

40 Years

IOA celebrates 40 years of existence and still looking to the future.

ASPOA-ASSR Conference 2014

The Harikesh Buch Professional Service Award

The IOA Professional Service Award is periodically presented to individuals who have unselfishly volunteered their professional services on an International or Regional level and have significantly impacted the quality of life of people who have, or will undergo bowel or urinary diversion surgery. The Award acknowledges work that has been accomplished and, to be effective in the provision of these dedicated services, the recipient has to communicate and co-operate in a friendly way with people of different languages, lifestyles, religions and methods of operation; demanding qualities given to few people. One such person is Dr. Harikesh Buch.

The ASPOA awards night in Hochiminh Vietnam was very significant in lieu of the annoucement of awards attributed to two deserving people who had made an impact for the welfare of ostomates. Click here to read the introduction given by ASPOA President Barry Maughan.

The first recipient of the ASPOA HBPSA was Dr. Shindo. Click here to read the recognition given by ASPOA President Barry Maughan.

The 20/40 Survey Questionnaire

Dear Ostomates in the 20/40 age group,

This support group has been in existence for nearly 15 years.

The present IOA 20/40 coordinator Ronaldo Lora, from The Philippines, has constructed a survey to gather young ostomates’ ideas from around the World about how to move forward in the next few years and other important issues for each of you. Click Read More to continue reading further details.
